Couples Therapy Perth
When couples are having issues and problems with their relationship, they may choose to seek some coaching or therapy to develop a greater understanding and also strategies to improve their situation.
Just to clarify, the terms “counselling” and “therapy” have different meanings, but are often used to describe the same activity. Both counselling and therapy involve talking and working with a trained professional.
Counselling is the process by which a professional helps an individual or couple understand and solve problems to help him or her cope with mental or emotional stressors. For example, counselling generally works to find solutions to specific immediate problems such as learning how to positively communicate in relationships with others.
Therapy usually involves talking and working with a professional about your situation in order to gain more understanding about issues such as mood, feelings, behavior, and ways of thinking. For example, therapy can help you learn how to find meaning in your relationship patterns.
Generally counselling can be considered more short term than therapy and coaching.
Before coming in for an initial consultation, we have a complementary 30 minute session over the phone.
